EU DOCUMENTS IN THE SEJM

In March 2021 the EU Affairs Committee (SUE) held 3 meetings, no. 55-57, via electronic means of distance communication. During these meetings the Committee:

  • pursuant to Art. 7(4) of the Cooperation Act, considered:
    • proposal for a regulation of the EP and of the Council amending Regulation (EU) 2016/794, as regards Europol's cooperation with private parties, the processing of personal data by Europol in support of criminal investigations, and Europol's role on research and innovation COM(2020) 796 together with the draft position of the Republic of Poland [mtg no. 55],
    • proposal for a regulation of the EP and of the Council on a Single Market For Digital Services (Digital Services Act) and amending Directive 2000/31/EC (COM(2020) 825) together with the draft position of the Republic of Poland [mtg no. 55],

    • proposal for a regulation of the EP and of the Council on statistics on agricultural input and output and repealing Regulations (EC) No 1165/2008, (EC) No 543/2009, (EC) No 1185/2009 and Council Directive 96/16/EC (COM(2021) 37) together with the draft position of the Republic of Poland [mtg no. 56],
    • proposal for a regulation of the EP and of the Council amending Regulation (EC) No 138/2004 of the European Parliament and of the Council as regards regional economic accounts for agriculture (COM(2021) 54) together with the draft position of the Republic of Poland [mtg no. 56],
    • proposal for a directive of the EP and of the Council on the resilience of critical entities (COM(2020) 829) together with the draft position of the Republic of Poland [mtg no. 57],
  • pursuant to Art. 11(1) of the cooperation act, considered:
    • information on the position the Council of Ministers intends to take during the consideration of the draft EU legal acts at the meeting of the Agriculture and Fisheries Council on 22-23 March 20201 - COM(2018) 392, COM(2018) 393, COM(2018) 394 [mtg no. 56],
  • pursuant to Art. 151(1) of the Sejm Standing Orders and Art. 3(2) of the Cooperation Act, considered:
    • information of the Council of Ministers on the meeting of the European Council planned for 25-26 March 2021 [mtg no. 57],
    • communication from the Commission: Strategy to strengthen the application of the Charter of Fundamental Rights in the EU (COM(2020) 711) together with the Government position [mtg no. 57],
  • according to the proposal of the Committee Bureau, didn't raise any comment to the following EU documents:
    • pursuant to Art. 7(4) of the Cooperation Act – to 1 draft legislative act: COM(2021) 36 [mtg no. 55],
    • pursuant to Art. 8(2) of the Cooperation Act – to 9 draft legal acts: COM(2021) 41, 47, 48, 53, 58, 64, 68, 72, 73 [mtg no. 55],

WORK IN COMMITTEES
Digitalisation, Innovation and New Technologies Committee
  • 03.03.2021, considered the information presented by the Government plenipotentiary for cybersecurity on the principles of the operational program on digitalisation under the new financial perspective of the European Union and discussed the National Reconstruction Plan in the field of digitalisation (mtg no. 26).

Foreign Affairs Committee

  • 10.03.2021, considered the information of the Minister of Development, Labour and Technology and the Minister of Foreign Affairs on EU-China Comprehensive Agreement on Investment (CAI) and the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP - consequences for Poland, the EU and cooperation under the Three Seas initiative (mtg no. 41).
