EU DOCUMENTS IN THE SEJM

In January 2022 the EU Affairs Committee (SUE) held 7 meetings, no. 102-108. During these meetings the Committee:

  • pursuant to Art. 8(2) of the Cooperation Act, considered:

  • considered a draft desideratum addressed to the President of the Council of Ministers on taking action intended to execute the appropriate transparency and presentation of precise explanations by the EU organs concerning a so-called trade in the influence, described by the French newspaper Liberation [mtg no. 105],
  • together with the Foreign Affairs Committee held the meeting [no. 106]:
    • on the results of the Slovenian Presidency of the EU, with participation of the Slovenian Presidency representative, Ambassador of the Republic of Slovenia in Poland, Ms Božena Forštnarič Boroje,
    • on the programme of the French Presidency of the EU Council, with participation of the French Presidency representative, Ambassador of the French Republic in Poland, Mr Frédéric Billet,
  • considered a draft desideratum addressed to the Minister for EU Affairs on the reform of provisions concerning possibility of getting additional income by Members of the European Parliament [mtg no. 108].

WORK IN COMMITTEES
Petitions Committee
  • 11.01.2022, considered a reply to the desideratum no. 103 addressed to the President of the Council of Ministers concerning the transposition of the Directive (EU) 2019/2161 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 27 November 2019 amending Council Directive 93/13/EEC and Directives 98/6/EC, 2005/29/EC and 2011/83/EU of the European Parliament and of the Council as regards the better enforcement and modernisation of Union consumer protection rules [mtg no. 88].
State Audit Committee
  • 26.01.2022, heard the information on "Annual report of the European Court of Auditors on the performance of the EU budget 2020" together with a review of the cohesion policy arrangements and selected special reports concerning Poland. The information has been presented by Marek Opioła, member of ECA [mtg no. 80].
SUBSIDIARITY CHECK IN NATIONAL PARLIAMENTS
In January 2022, 29 draft legislative acts were subject to subsidiarity scrutiny. The national parliaments submitted no reasoned opinion on the non-compliance of the scrutinised draft acts with the subsidiarity principle.
